Normally, Venture Capital's investment is directed to technology companies or with a strong innovative component. This type of investment requires smaller amounts of capital but also the risk is high due to the lack of information derived from not having historical results, as well as the uncertainty inherent in not knowing what will be the acceptance of the product or service by the market.
Private Equity investment is directed to already established companies or in a growth stage. It can be divided into:
- Growth capital.
- Leveraged buyouts (LBO).
- Capital restructuring or turnaround.
